5th Grade Reading Summer School

June 8-22, 2016 (2 hour block)

5th Grade Summer School is organized, scripted, and uses best instructional practices.

Reading/Math Split Day

Reading Block (120 minutes)


  • 30 minute whole group includes a selected mini-lesson
  • Four rotations of small group instruction (with a selected lesson) and centers/stations for 20 minutes each


Math Block (120 minutes)

Daily Schedule

Each day, the class is divided into 2 blocks--Reading block and Math block. Each block consists of 120 minutes for reading and math instruction. The reading block is structured with a whole group lesson and four rotations of small group instruction with centers/stations.


Day 1: June 8th
