Title I Parent Involvement -Strategy of the Week
Brag Phone Calls and Bulldog Bucks
Many teachers see the value in calling parents early to 'brag' or report good news. Make your first contact with parents a positive one. Call them to nurture positive home and school relationships. Likewise, don't forget to brag on your students that exhibit appropriate behavior. Pass out those Bulldog Bucks!
ELA and Math Liaisons!! New for the 2015-16 school year!!
In order to better support our implementation of PLCs at our schools, there will be an ELA and a math "Liaison" from each grade level from each of our schools. These ELA and math liaisons will meet three times over the course of the year, respectively, in K - 2nd, 3rd - 5th, 6th - 8th, and 9th - 12th grade groups.
The focus of these meetings will be on upcoming standards from our pacing guides as well as facilitating the creation and use of common assessments in ELA and math. The teachers representing Rosenwald HS will be ELA 9th-Montague, ELA-10th-Whittaker, ELA-11th-Head, ELA-12th-Wellman, Math Alg. I-Alford, Math Geometry-Prado, and Math Credit Recovery-Harrell. I didn't select anyone for the Alg. 2 slot. If you are unable to serve in this capacity, please let me know at once. Thanks in advance for your efforts.
The district will be in touch with more details, as time approaches.

"Paws" Break
- Please submit a copy of your discipline, grading and course syllabus to your administrator by August 31, 2015.
- Remember, lesson plans are due, on the I-drive, the Friday prior to the week you are implementing the standards.
- Keep your eyes open and your ears to the ground...in both of the fights we've had, the students were talking/ arguing BEFORE the incident in the classroom or hallway. Redirect them. It takes all of us working together to keep our school safe and orderly.
- Check your Rosenwald Google Calender for up-to-date school-wide news.
