VIKING NEWS
October/November 2020
A Message of Gratitude!
We are so pleased and thankful for the support of our community during these challenging times. The opening of school along with the transition back to our Phase II model has been an enormous accomplishment.
Our staff continues with their great work and is presenting class in both online and in-person format. We are so proud of our students for following procedures and guidelines and giving us their best.
Vikings, as we are nearing the end of first trimester (November 13), let's finish STRONG!

Vikings celebrate RED RIBBON WEEK October 26-30
From October 26th through the 30th, students participated in Red Ribbon Week- the nation’s oldest and largest drug prevention awareness campaign. Both virtual and on campus students were able to participate in a variety of individual and homeroom activities from word searches, to candy guessing challenges, music trivia, dress up days, and more! The week was full of informational videos, virtual guest speakers, and a campus wide poetry contest- congratulations to our winner Melinda Nguyen!

Hello Vikings and Happy Fall!
I hope this message finds each of you well and adjusting to the curve balls that 2020 continues to throw at us regularly.
As the holidays are quickly approaching I'd like to encourage everyone to designate Cerro Villa as your charity of choice on Amazon Smile. It's quick and easy and ensures .5% of each sale gets donated back to Cerro Villa. Follow the steps below:
1) Go to smile.amazon.com
2) Click the Amazon Smile tab
4) You will be asked to type in your charity
3) Cerro Villa Middle School PFSO
4) Then remember to shop on AmazonSmile! It's as easy as that!
Also, we are still hoping to add more members to our PFSO! It's never too late to join. Even in all of this uncertainty the PFSO is instrumental in funding programs for our students, staff and school! Just a few things we provide and help to provide are: Motivational assemblies(in person and/or virtual), Wellness Center activities, upgrades in technology, library updates, tables in our lunchroom area, and goals requests for our teachers. As you can see, these are things that benefit each and every student! Please go to cvpfso.org and scroll down to join today!
