Bulldogs,
Tomorrow is HOMECOMING! We are looking forward to a great community celebration and can't wait to see all of Decatur join us to support the Bulldogs at DHS Stadium.
Congratulations to our softball team who finished their season this week in the GHSA SuperRegional round of the playoffs. Good luck to our Volleyball team as they prepare to play Northgate in Round 2 of the GHSA State Tournament on Saturday at 1 PM at DHS. Another Championship opportunity for the Bulldogs happens next week as our Bulldogs host the Region Cross Country Meet on Thursday at Legacy Park. Come out to support the Bulldogs!

Athletics Announcements
Kelli Aaron, Administrative Assistant, DHS Professional Employee of the YEAR!!
Congratulations to Kelli Aaron, Athletic Administrative Assistant and Bookkeeper!! Ms. Kelli was recognized this week as the DHS Professional Employee of the Year. Thank you to Coach Allison Paul for submitting the nomination.
In her nomination, Coach Paul noted "Ms. Kelli motivates so many of our kids, especially our student-athletes. She makes sure any student who needs support has it and will make sure coaches know when a kid is struggling. She checks in regularly on several of our students to see if they need help, support, or guidance and goes out of her way to help our kids to be successful. If a student needs anything, she is there to help out. Ms. Kelli goes so far as to make sure that our DHS Alumni are taken care of after they’ve graduated."

Partnering With The Positive Coaching Alliance
4 Ways Parents Can Help Their Kids Enjoy Sports
This year, the Bulldogs are partnering again with the Positive Coaching Alliance to enhance the experience of our students, coaches, and Bulldog families. The PCA has a vast number of resources that can help us make the most of our experience.
Take a look at this week's resource on "4 Ways Parents Can Help Their Kids Enjoy Sports." Sports require a high level of commitment, not just from our student-athletes but also from their parents. When time is limited, we want to make the most of our efforts revolving around sports and find ways to disconnect and enjoy life away from competition.

Great job to all of our coaches who have completed the "Developing the Triple-Impact Competitor" Professional Development Workshop provided by PCA!!

"Belgian Shot Putter Saves Team From Disqualification"
Some of the great and most challenging lessons participation in sports has to offer center around what it means and what it takes to be a part of a team. There are times when our students will be pushed outside of their comfort zones and asked to take on different roles for the success of the team. These sacrifices are often not easy but every role adds value to a team and every individual is important. Teaching our students humility and sacrifice today can help them develop the confidence to take important risks later. This story about Jolien Boumkwo, Belgian shot putter, illustrates how impactful it can be to step up in ways that may not be comfortable to help out the team!
