The Weekly Connection
Updates from the Principal's Office - March 26th, 2023
------------------------------------------
Message from Mrs. Jones
We are excited to offer a new Career & Technical Education Pathway to students, beginning in the 2023-24 school year! Students interested in learning about the healthcare field/careers in healthcare (EMT, Nurse, Medical Assistant, Mental Health Professional, etc.) should sign up use THIS LINK. Once submitted, a counselor will reach out to discuss scheduling options for next year to accommodate this new pathway!
School Attendance
School attendance is extremely important for student success. In fact, research tells us that positive student attendance links closely to student success and likelihood of graduating on time with peers.
A few important reminders regarding student attendance:
Only the individual listed on the student’s contact list on file will be authorized to pick up a student and sign him/her out.
Students arriving at school after the bell must receive a pass from the Attendance Office. Students arriving at school more than 30 minutes after the start of the day are considered truant from that class period and will need to provide a written note of excusal from a parent. Notes will be evaluated based on excused absence guidelines.
Students should contact teachers regarding work missed during an absence. Parents of students who will be absent for 2 weeks or more due to a medical condition should contact the Assistant Principals’ Office for information regarding Home/Hospital Instruction.
Students planning to be absent from a class due to a school sponsored activity must obtain prior approval from classroom teachers. Teachers of students who are in danger of failing may decide not to allow them to miss class.
On the day of a contest, student athletes must attend at least four classes in order to be eligible to compete.
Students will not be called out of school 15 minutes prior to the end of any school days (Taken from the 22-23 Student & Parent Handbook)
As always, if there is anything you need, please feel free to reach out by telephone at (760) 723-6300 x3102, x3110, or x3103, or by email through our website.
Let's make this a great week, Warriors!
