Eagan Science Olympiad Team
Information Meeting for students and parents
9/22 at 6:30 in Lec A
Our Science Olympiad Team competes against other schools in various science events in the areas of earth science, biology, chemistry, physics and engineering/technology with the goal of making it to the national competition. These 23 events include academic, lab and building events, so there is a place for anyone interested in STEM. Students will get to pick which events they would like to study based on their individual interests, and they will work with other students on the team to prepare for competitions.
Membership is open to all grade levels and academic backgrounds. You do not have to be a science standout to succeed in Science Olympiad, just an interest in STEM. We allow flexibility for students balancing multiple school activities. Science Olympiad is a great place for students who would like to go into a STEM field in college, pursue a vocational career, or just have a love for science!
Free Student Meals
Students in District 196 will be provided breakfast and lunch at no cost during the 2021-22 school year due to a grant provided by the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture. All families are still encouraged to complete an Educational Benefits Application, formerly the free and reduced-price meals application. A new application must be submitted each year.
If a student wishes to purchase an a la carte item or a second lunch, they must have money loaded into their meal account or have cash in hand.
Friday, October 1 - Teacher Data/Assessment Day and Workshop for High Schools
Lifetouch School Photos - Retake and Makeup Day is Monday, October 11th
Here Comes the Bus
As we begin the new school year, many of our families are signing up for our school bus notification system,Here Comes the Bus. Some families have experiences errors when trying to set up their account when they type in their student's last name and student ID.
Instead of the student ID, the parent needs to type in the student's lunch pin, which can be found in their Infinite Campus Parent Portal. Do not use the student ID, but rather the lunch pin.
Steps for Families
- Log into the app with your email address and use the District 196 ID: 73500
- Add your student’s name and student lunch account number, which can be found in their Infinite Campus profile. (If your child is in Early Childhood Education, contact the Transportation to get a temporary lunch account number. Email Transportation@district196.org.)
- Once login is complete, set up a virtual radius that will alert when the bus is in the area.
