Wrangler Weekly
Week of September 11, 2023

Message from Ms. Bratton, principal
Hard to believe that we are three weeks in (and are still at 100+ degrees)!
Our first progress report comes out today. While students do not have a large number of grades in yet, they are working hard. I've seen lots of active learning this week: dancing to remember key ideas for protons, neutrons, and electrons, deep dives into the Dewey Decimal System, and sixth graders digging into literal vs. figurative language. Some impressive learning happening at SBMS this week! Please check your student's Skyward account to see their current grades and progress report. If you have questions or concerns, email their teacher as we are all happy to offer guidance and support. We want to see your Wrangler grow and succeed.
Also, mark you calendar for our Open House -- it's right around the corner: Monday, September 18th. Our faculty and staff cannot wait to meet you all and share some of your students' wonderful work.
Finally, to all who have helped and are continuing to support our campus fundraiser -- thank you! I realize you might have an Oinkers the Flying Pig in your house... so thank you, thank you! We will keep you posted on our success once the fundraiser officially closes in about 7 more days.
Good luck to Cross Country and Volleyball on Saturday! Go Wranglers!
P.S. If your student is interested in joining Student Council, the first meeting of the year is Wednesday, Sept. 13 from 4:00-4:30. We would love to build more future leaders at SBMS!
Go Wranglers!
Ms. Bratton

Summer 2025 Travel Opportunity Meeting - Sept 12
SBMS students are being offered an international education experience to Dublin & London in Summer 2025. This opportunity will allow students to step out of their comfort zones, gain confidence, explore a new culture, and see the world from a different perspective. It's truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and I encourage all of you to attend the information meeting on Tuesday, September 12th starting at 7pm in SBMS Room 301 to learn more about it.
You must RSVP online to confirm your spot at the meeting. Please use this link to RSVP now: https://bit.ly/3EegxKm Can’t make the meeting but want more information? RSVP and select “No but send info.”
Those who register for and attend the meeting will be eligible to receive a $200 tour scholarship and be eligible for Risk-Free Enrollment if they enroll on our tour! As a reminder for those with questions about this opportunity: all questions will be answered at the meeting. Registration for the meeting is mandatory, so do not wait.
Please note that this is not a district or school-sponsored trip, but rather being organized by Ms. Burkhardt & Ms. Dornburg in partnership with EF Education First, an accredited organization. If you have any questions about the opportunity, please reach out to Ms. Burkhardt at sarah.burkhardt@comalisd.org

Whether your student participates in football, volleyball, or any number of our fine arts programs, you can order your student's sign here and support the cheer booster in the process.
