The Seven Years War {1756-1763}

The Seven Years War was due to conflict between England and France during 1754-1755. It affected Europe, North America, Central America, the West African Coast, India, and the Philippines.

The Boston Tea Party {1773}

Samuel Adams and the Sons of Liberty threw over 300 chests of tea into the Boston Harbor. The people that were doing this were protesting against taxes, and this act resulted in the American Revolution.

The Declaration of Independence {July 4, 1776}

Because of this, the thirteen American colonies were now regarded as sovereign states and no longer part of the British Empire. Then they formed the new nation, the United States of America.

The Storming of the Bastille {July 14, 1789}

The Bastille was a prison in Paris, France that represented royal authority in the center of Paris. The Bastille had only contained seven prisoners at the time.

Haitian Rebellion {1791-1804}

The Haitian Rebellion was a slave revolt in in the French colony of Saint-Domingue. Resulted in the founding of the Republic of Haiti.

Coronation of Napoleon {December 1804}

Napoleon crowned himself Emperor of the French on December 2, 1804. He wanted to establish French legitimacy of his Imperial reign with its new royalty and nobility.
