Do you know what altar is?

Dia de los Muertos is when people honor people that have died. They honor them by putting pictures on an altar of that person, they put candles, all of their favorite things, and their favorite foods. They also put flowers. The type of flowers that are often put on altars are marigolds. Dia de los Muertos is celebrated on November 1 and 2. On November 1 they honor adults that have died. On November 2 they honor children that have died.

A person in my family that has died is my Uncle Unberto. He loved to make up funny jokes. He was a very funny person. He also loved to eat tacos with black beans. He was one of my favorite uncles. He seemed to enjoy watching my cousins and I playing outside all the time.
