Letter to Winborn Community from Dr. Mitzner
Dear Winborn Community,
Since this school opened with Diane Winborn as the principal, it has been a location where ordinary people come together to achieve extraordinary results. In my mind there are few greater satisfactions than being part of a school where everyone works together to make a difference and contribution greater than we could accomplish on our own. Diane Winborn Elementary is this kind of school.
It has been my honor and privilege to serve as the Principal of Diane Winborn Elementary for the past four years. At last night’s Katy ISD board meeting, Mr. Frailey announced that I have been reassigned to serve as the Principal for Junior High 14.
I believe that on our journey of life it is important to take advantage of the opportunities that come across our path. I did not actively seek out this adventure but I am honored that I have been selected to build a team to create unparalleled learning experiences in a junior high setting.
Through the transition process, I am committed to continue to serve and lead Winborn Elementary until a new principal has been selected. I will work to ensure a smooth transition for the entire school community. It is important to me that you and your children know that I care deeply about the Winborn community. I am confident that our successes will continue through the positive culture we have built with the staff, students, and parents of Winborn Elementary.
Dr. Kris Mitzner
