November 20, 2020
By my calculations, today is the 61st day of school for our students. I can say with confidence, they have been sixty-one days that I will never forget. My greatest hope is that you, as parents, have felt that our school has done right by your students. Whether you chose remote or in-person learning for your child, we have strived to create meaningful and purposeful learning experiences for all. We know, to meet that goal fully, we need a strong partnership with our families. This has been a unique experience for all of us. There have been glitches, setbacks, frustrations, etc. But there has also been growth, celebration, and more successes to count. Upon reflection, I feel our staff, students, and parents have shown a lot of GRIT, which is a trait I value above almost all else.
As we enter the holiday season, one where I try to be mindful of expressing gratitude, I want to express my thanks to our parents. Enjoy the week ahead with your family!
Transitioning to Remote Learning for All Munhall Students
Today marks the final day of in-person learning before D303 takes an adaptive pause on in-person learning through the remainder of the semester. Yesterday, November 19th, I sent a detailed communication to all families, which included specific information about the transition into fully remote instruction. In addition, all families should receive specific information about the week of November 30th from their classroom teacher.
If your child has not been in school for the last few days, and therefore, didn’t have his or her materials sent home, we will be offering a material pick-up time on Monday, November 23rd from 9:00-11:00 and 1:00-2:30. This is only for in-person learners who have been absent this week. Your child’s classroom teacher will contact you directly if there are materials for you to pick up on November 23rd.
Throughout our adaptive pause on in-person instruction, meals will be distributed to D303 families. Breakfast and lunch meals are FREE for all children between the ages of 1 to 18. There is no pre-ordering. Meals are available at Cumberland Green from 11:00 AM-12:00 PM and at Munhall from 2:00 PM-3:00 PM on the following dates: 11/23, 11/30, 12/3, 12/7, 12/10, 12/14, 12/17, 12/21, 12/28, and 1/4. On each pick-up date, multiple meals will be provided.
1st Trimester report cards will be available to families on Home Access Center at 8:00 on Monday, November 30th.
A make-up schedule for any in-person 3rd and 5th graders who missed portions of the CogAT test will be set for January.
No School the Week of November 23rd

Have a great weekend!
