STUDENT SAFETY INFORMATION FOR OLYMPIC FIELD DAYS
The Olympic Field Day for the Pre-Kindergarten, Kindergarten, 1st, 6th, 7th, and 8th grade will be on June 7th and the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade will have their Olympic Field Day on June 8th. Here are some basic safety concerns that need to be addressed for the Olympic Field Day event when being in the sun and heat.
Clothing: Be dressed for weather and activity. Wear shorts, T-shirt, and gym shoes that allows for safe participation. Wearing proper footwear is important for certain events to eliminate potential injuries.
Sun: Sunscreen with sun protective factor (SPF) higher than 30 to protect the students from sunburn and other health concerns related to UV light.
Water: Students should bring a LARGE water bottle with water (no sugary drink such as soda, gatorade, or juice.) As the participants will lose lots of water while standing under the sun and participating in the events. PLEASE PUT NAME ON BOTTLE!
Good Luck and we look forward to seeing students out there participating in the Olympic Field Day with their best efforts. Thank you!
¡Gracias!
