School Year Off to a Normal Start

We are so excited to welcome you back to the normalcy of a five-day a week school year with all students attending.

While vestiges of the pandemic remain such as mask wearing, distancing, ongoing cleaning of learning surfaces, and frequent hand washing, it is having the children and staff here at school that brings us the normalcy that is important for children.

Please call me at any time and let me know how I can help in this time of transition to the new school year. If you are not sure how to help your child, our teachers and office staff can support you. Stay in touch through your child's Canvas account, your Dojo account, email, or by calling the school at 540.665.6330.

We are here to help in any way that we can.

Thank you for supporting your child in learning five days a week. Working together, we can make this year one of the most wonderful and memorable years ever for your child.

All the best,

Nan Bryant

Your Child's Chromebook

Your child will continue to be assigned a Chromebook for school and home use. Please work with your child to find a safe, clean space for the Chromebook to be stored if it is brought home for the evening. For further information on Chromebook use, please contact your child's teacher or call the school.

A New Assistant Principal

It is my pleasure to introduce our new assistant principal, Ms. Wendy Perkins, to you. Ms. Perkins replaces Dr. Lisa Pluska, who took a position as an assistant principal at Daniel Morgan Intermediate School for this year. While we miss Dr. Pluska, we are excited to have Ms. Perkins join the staff. She brings experience as a high school science teacher and instructional coach to her new role at VACDES. Ms. Perkins looks forward to meeting and working with our children and families.
