Mrs. Sims' Weekly Newsletter
Week of May 4th- May 8th 2015
What we will be doing this week
Reading: We will continue to meet in our reading groups and discuss our novels. As we begin to finish our novels we will start book report projects. These will be a ton of fun!
Math: Our new math routine is working great and the kids seem to really like it! This week we will be focusing on estimating solutions involving whole numbers and using the 4 operations to solve one and two step problems.
Science: We are beginning our next IB unit which is How the World Works... this involves looking at inventions, global and local, as well as creating their own. We will be working with creating circuits, how motors run and how to make an electromagnet.
Social Studies: We will be stepping into the civil war era and how Texas was involved and the process of reconstruction.

Math homework is a little different again this week! Please check the homework link on our website for information. We will also send home a sheet with directions on Monday.
