STUDENT ACHIEVEMENTS
Congratulations to Year 12 student Kylie Pinto who has been awarded a place in the Otago University 2023 Science Academy programme. The Science Academy is an exciting programme aimed at Year 13 students with a passion for science and the potential to excel in their final year NCEA and/or scholarship science exams. Ka rawe, Kylie!
Charlotte Kingsford and Zeva Peard, were presented with Bronze Leadership Awards at the Gisborne Netball Leaders' Awards. Netball legend Irene Van Dyk was on hand to present the awards. Well done, ladies. We're so proud of your commitment!
Clover Edwards, Nicole Barrett, Michael Fraser and Kieran Bruce are pictured below with their futsal medals. Blake Whitley was awarded Player of the Day. Well done, Blake! Central Football, in partnership with Special Olympics New Zealand and Sport Gisborne, Tairāwhiti, held a futsal programme for students in Tairawhiti that have special needs. COMMUNITY EVENT
A number of our students are involved in the upcoming dance extravaganza, Destination Unknown.
Tickets are on sale now. This is an opportunity not to be missed!
REMINDER - COVID-19
With a slight rise in Covid-19 numbers recently, we would like to remind you about the isolation guidelines. If you test positive for Covid-19 you must self-isolate for 7 days while you recover.
Day 0 is the day your symptoms started or when you tested positive, whichever came first.
Your household contacts do not need to isolate. They should test daily for 5 days. If they test positive, they need to begin 7 days of isolation as someone with COVID-19.
Thank you for keeping our community safe by following these guidelines.
LEAVERS' DINNER
Our annual Leavers’ Dinner will be held on Sunday 4th December 2022 at the Bushmere Arms. Students leaving the secondary school system and parents are invited to this official function which is the last formal occasion on which the group meets. It is a requirement that all students attend with at least one parent.
The cost is $55.00 per person and tickets can be purchased through KINDO by Wednesday 30
November 2022.
Guests are welcome to arrive at 6.30pm for informal gathering and drinks, with the
official function starting at 7.00pm. In the past this evening has been most enjoyable for parents, students and staff attending. It is an opportunity to meet with and farewell our senior students as they embark on the next phase of their lives.
We do not like to see any of our families facing financial stress. If there is any student
who would like to attend but feel that their financial circumstances prevent this, please
see your learning mentor or Mrs Sadler.
