SPES TRACK AND FIELD AND GOLF "LARGE AND IN CHARGE!"

MIGHTY COUGARS ON THE PROWL

On Tuesday of last week, we had three Cougars bring home 1st place ribbons from the 5th and 6th grade Lion Relays. Canon Clark won the high jump, Maleah Domengeaux won the triple jump and Emma Lemaire brought home TWO 1st place awards in the Shot Put AND the Discus!

Thursday drew the Track and Field season to an end for our 5th and 6th grade Cougars and our SPES athletes did it in style. Our girls placed fourth as a team in the League Championship Meet and our boys placed third. Congratulations to the following Cougars: Emma Lemaire once again dominated in the Discus and Shot Put by garnering 1st place in both! Canon Clark once again out jumped everyone in the High Jump and brought home another 1st place. Trey Godchaux was right behind him though with a 3rd place high jump. Jacob Lemaire placed 2nd in Discus and Shot Put as did Maleah Domengeaux in the Triple Jump. SPES also brought home a number of 3rd place ribbons - Sophia Perkins in the Triple Jump, Isabel Attenhofer in the 1600 meter run, Owen Britton in the Discus, Brennan Kieta in the 3200 meter run and, in the 4 x 400 meter relay, our SPES team of Charlie Dronet, Brennan Kieta, Trey Godchaux and Cannon Clark also came in 3rd.

SPES GOLFERS SHOW STRENGTH IN LAST WEEK'S MATCH

Last Wednesday, our SPES golf team won their match against St. Cecilia and Sts. Peter and Paul. Our top three scorers were Cameron Myers, Sam Stonecipher and Christian Fontenot who placed 2nd, 3rd and 4th OVERALL respectively! Watch these guys ... their swings are strong and accurate and their putts are spot on. We can't wait to see what the rest of the season brings for them.
