Message from the School Director

Dear appreciated parents and guardians,

As the newly appointed School Director, I am grateful for the opportunity to partake in realizing the vision of the Footprints International School Founders. A vision to build a community of students that will be motivated, accountable and compassionate in the contribution of a better society. With 13 years of educational leadership and management experience in Cambodia, I believe that I am equipped to provide sturdy support to the dedicated team at FIS; to help strengthen the community and to serve our students and their families to the best of our abilities. No challenge is too big. We need only remind ourselves that the educational bricks that we lay, will be the foundation of the success of our students. It requires us to be very mindful of the different needs of our children, parents and staff. Careful and honest communication as well as mutual support, understanding and last but not least, patience are paramount for all of us to move ahead successfully and to get through the pandemic stronger than ever!

As we have now transitioned to hybrid learning, we hope that the end of the Covid-19 pandemic is near. School Director is one of the many roles that I take on. I also play the role of a father to a lovely son of six years of age. I am a German national with a Cambodian wife. We chose to enroll our son at FIS because of the world-renowned Cambridge international curriculum. We want our son to have an excellent education that will allow him to access any part of the world that he so desires; FIS offers that passport. The Cambridge international curriculum sets a global standard for education. With the IGCSE and A-level examinations the curriculum is a pathway to the most reputable schools and universities in the world.

I know that FIS provides excellent university career guidance and that our students will gain the essential skills they need for success at university and in their future professional and private life. Most importantly, FIS is a place where I can trust that each child is safe, secure and cared for. The new design of the campus compounds, a complex CCTV monitoring system, well trained security and an environment in which everyone looks after each other makes FIS the school of choice for families who value personalized, caring and child-centered education.

I am honored to be entrusted with serving you and the wider community. Please do not hesitate to contact me via email at director@footprintsschool.edu.kh or our wonderful Family Engagement Managers Dalin Try at the Toul Kork Campus dalin.try@footprintsschool.edu.kh and Chan Chhann ,chanchhann.chhay@footprintsschool.edu.kh at the Toul Tompong Campus.I look forward to a strong and fruitful relationship with all of you.

Closing this letter, on behalf of the FIS community I wish you and your loved ones a healthy, peaceful and fulfilling Pchum Ben holiday break!

Who says learning high frequency words is hard? With daily practice, we can now read them very well.
