Greetings from The Lodge Staff
First, we want everyone to know we miss YOU! What I wouldn't give to be walking into the Lodge at 9:25 a.m.to make our morning announcements, to hear the roar when Karen calls B-12 during Monday bingo, or feel the energy of a busy Friday morning! We understand that this is a stressful time in our lives - our routines have changed, our desire for "normalcy" is being challenged, but it is everyone's responsibility to slow the outbreak and protect ourselves, our loved ones, our neighbors, and our community. Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the Governor's Stay at Home Order, The Lodge will remain closed until further notice. Although the building is closed and we are not gathering in a shared space, we can continue to socialize, stay connected, be healthy and support each other. I am hearing many stories of connectivity as people play online mah jongg, send a cheerful text or card to each other, chat on facetime, create a zoom meet-up, or reach out on Facebook! Keep it up!!
During the closure, we will continue to provide programming and resources but just in a more "socially distant" kind of way! It is time for us to get creative, think outside-the-box, and embrace this challenge! We can still exercise, we can still travel, we can still learn, and we can still socialize... check it out!!
If you need assistance, resources, have a question or a comment, or are looking for a friendly chat, I would love to hear from you! Please don't hesitate to email jseedorf@chaskamn.com or 952.227.7760.
As my coffee cup says "good vibes only!"
Please take care!
Joan

Chaska Cares
Chaska has always been a community that cares. We pride ourselves on being the best small town in Minnesota. That means we take a personal interest in each and every member of our community.
We care about being a welcoming and inclusive community, which is why we launched our Chaska Cares initiative. Watch Chaska Cares Launch Video.
Let’s show how we are helping each other out. Let’s create positive memories. Let’s encourage optimism and a sense of hope that keeps us looking out for one another.
To showcase our community’s stories, we’re going to be using the hashtag #ChaskaCares. We’d like to encourage you to do the same when you’re sharing your stories on social media.
We want to make sure this is a community-wide effort, so we would love to hear how we can help. Email us your requests for help, questions, and suggestions and we’ll do our best to help any way we can.
The entire City of Chaska organization takes great pride in serving you each and every day. That’s because we care!

Coffee with a Cop
Hello,
I miss our “Coffee with a Cop” meetings and wanted to reach out to all of you regarding the numerous scams surrounding COVID-19.
Remember, that scammers always follow the headlines and use fear to prey on victims. This is the perfect time for scammers as people are vulnerable with social isolation and unable to see their loved ones, are afraid if they have health risks or are financially or emotionally drained.
There have been over 14,000 reports nationwide of COVID-19 scams with $10 million in losses. The FTC has received 152 in Minnesota. Reported fraud is just the tip of the iceberg as many do not report.
The most common are fake sellers of masks and other products, stimulus checks, grant and unemployment scams.
They come in the form of phone calls, texts and e-mails. Some scammers say it is mandatory testing and they will come to your home.
The scammers prey on fear and often the messages look or sound official.
Remember you can always call me at 952-448-4200 and leave a message and I will get back to you. You can also e-mail me at: jjanke@chaskamn.com
I hope to see you soon!
