Officer Diaz shared tips for Immigrant Families

Officer Randy Diaz, Immigrant Outreach Specialist from IMPD Community Engagement Office, shared the following:

  • Don't be afraid to report crimes and tips to the police
  • You may call 911 or other police service and stay anonymous.
  • Take pictures of your valuables and its serial numbers just in case they are stolen as it is easier to fill out a police report and recover your valuables.
  • Avoid traffic violations such as driving after drinking alcohol.
  • Don't get out of your car if you are pulled over by a police officer
  • Wait until the officer is by your side to reach for your ID
  • All kids under 8 need a car seat.
  • Keep all lights on your car in working conditions.
  • If you are unsure, ask a police officer to stay within the law

He shared his office number in case you have questions:

317-327-3041 call 911 if an emergency
