Loveland High School
August 2022
Be Loveland. Be the Best.
Esteemed Parents and Guardians:
The 2022-23 school year is upon us and we are incredibly excited to welcome our students back to LHS! Please use our staff as a resource to equip yourself with whatever you need to support a positive year for your student(s). One of our goals this year is to increase family opportunities to engage with the school through volunteering, attending meaningful parent workshops, and through promoting positive student attendance and involvement. We expect every student to be at LHS learning every day, and we are ready to support families when this expectation is not being met.
As we continue to climb out of the wrath of COVID, we also expect families to reach out for support for students’ well-being. Our counseling, student support, and intervention teams are ready to meet students where they are and to engage with families to get students back on track for graduation.
As a community of learners, LHS must be a safe place for everyone to thrive. I encourage you to positively message with your students that at LHS, all students belong and it is an expectation that all students work to respect one another. How boring of a world it would be if every one of our students was the same - the diversity in our student body is a gift to celebrate! We will continue to work through student issues while employing restorative opportunities.
There is so much to look forward to in 2022-23! Our continuous move to normalcy following the pandemic is something we all are excited to embrace. I am crossing my fingers and hoping that mask mandates are a thing of the past (so far, so good!). Selfishly, I can’t wait to see our students excelling in extracurricular activities even at a greater level than last year!
In closing, I want to reiterate that I am here to help with any situation. Please feel free to e-mail me at michael.james@tsd.org with anything at all.
Looking forward to a great year!
Michael James

Students who notice a mistake/error on their schedules should contact their counselor via email. Scheduling mistakes and incorrect placements are the highest priority and need to be addressed as soon as possible. Please see the Counseling Staff link on the LHS Counseling webpage for counseling caseloads and counselor email addresses.
Students who have "See Counselor" or "Add a Class" listed in their first semester schedule may either: 1) email their counselor, or 2) stop by the LHS counseling office (no appointment necessary) from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 11th. Only students with “See Counselor” or “Add a Class” on their schedules will be permitted to meet with their counselor at this time.
Students who wish to change their schedules for any other reason can submit a Schedule Change Request Form after schedules are posted and prior to the August 19th deadline. All forms must be filled out digitally and include electronic parent signatures. Please note that no changes will be made until the week of August 15th so that all new students can be registered.
All changes will be made on a space-available basis. With many classes already reaching capacity, very few open seats are currently available.
