Arkansas High Weekly Happenings
January 10-15, 2016
Lady Razorbacks Represent
Over the holidays, the Lady Razorback basketball team had the opportunity to take a trip of a lifetime; one for the record books, as some would say. In December they traveled to the most memorable place on earth, Walt Disney World, where dreams do come true. The looks on their faces as they traveled through time on fantasy rides, took a trip across the world walking through the theme parks, and played in one of the most prestigious sports facilities in the world were truly priceless. It will be one of the biggest highlights of the year for these Lady Razorbacks. The trip was a unique opportunity for the team to bond and to be exposed to a whole new world of sports. They were able to compete against teams from across the country and Canada, and play at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. In their down time they visited the Magic Kingdom, Epcot, and Hollywood Studios. We hope that these young ladies continue to realize that dreams will come true if they only believe. Coach Watson, thank you for helping them realize their dreams and getting them there!
Instructional Walk-Throughs
We know that students learn best when they are truly engaged in what they are learning, when they have the opportunity to explore, debate, discuss, examine, defend, and experiment with the concepts and skills they are ready to learn.
Remember: No one instructional method will work for all students, for all teachers, or in all subject areas. Think of ways to start in figuring out what works most effectively for you and your students.
Please make sure you are putting two grades a week into your grade book and are keeping grades posted for students.
Congratulations to Mattew Gustafson & Lauren Bocox
Arkansas High students took 2 out of the 4 local essay winners for the Texarkana Arkansas DAR (Daughter's of the American Revolution) essay contest. The winners will receive a medal and a press release will be done once it is received. Their essays have been advanced to the state level contest and we are waiting on those results. Congrats Matthew and Lauren.
