This week in math
Monday: We will finish the chapter by studying the coordinate plane a little deeper.
Tuesday: Review for Unit 7 test on Wednesday. Be looking for a study guide to come home tonight.
Wednesday: Test over Functions, Inequalities, and Integers.
Thursday: Compare and Ordering Integers
Friday: Polygons on the Coordinate Plane
Ask your student about their STAR math score. All students should be finished testing by the end of the week.

This week in science
Students will be working on the characteristics of rocks and the rock cycle.
Monday: Review the 3 rock type characteristics: Using Starburst candy students will make each rock type and learn how rocks change (Rock Cycle).
Tuesday: Journey through the rock cycle interactive game. Students will move through various stages the rock cycle using 11 different stations in class.
Wednesday: Rock cycle video on edpuzzle and questions to go with it.
Thursday: Review the 3 rock type characteristics and how rocks change (Rock Cycle).
Friday: How weathering and erosion changes the earth's surfaces.
Below are a list of topics/activities from science class that you can use as conversation starters with your child.

*Which rock type can be found near volcanoes or deep underground?

THIS WEEK IN SOCIAL STUDIES
Students took their chapter 11 test on Friday over the Origins of Judaism. You can check their most current scores in SIS K12 or have students login to TCI and show you their awesome!
This week we will be starting our India unit and be exploring the religions of Hinduism and Buddhism. We are also finishing up our Black History month unit by watching "The Watson's go to Birmingham". 6th grade students read this book in their ELA classes.

This Week in ELA
Homework is reading 30 minutes per night or more recorded in the reading log, and any work not completed in class.
