Short and Sweet...
Even though it was a short week, we packed in a lot of learning and we were very productive!
WE WON THE SPIRIT STICK TODAY! We had 19/20 students dress in our best Rocket Gear. YAY!
Your kids are just THE BEST! They work with such vigor and are always happy to do what is asked of them. My favorite quote of the week was by Miles... I was teaching a Reading lesson and explaining the importance of reading (and other stuff I forget right now). I must have been very zealous in my presentation because Miles raised his hand and instead of a question he said, "You really love your job, don't you?" I was stunned. Honestly, I just sat there for a few seconds processing his comment. I told him there is no better compliment than the one he gave me! WOW! Sweet little Miles...he made my day!
We will have a BoosterThon Pep Rally on Wednesday, September 13 at 8:30 am to kick off this year's fundraising program. The Glow Run, which is our final event, will be held on September 21. It is going to be a BLAST!
Cursive Handwriting Books (optional homework) came home in your child's backpack today. Each time they complete pages to the STAR, he/she brings the book to school for a treat. Thank you for encouraging your child to practice typing skills using typing.com. It's neat to see the number of students FLYING through the program.
That's it for now!

Special Helper - Christian
Christian was the SPECIAL HELPER this week. She did a great job being proactive and looking for jobs that needed to be completed around the classroom. She shows such responsibility at school. I can tell she is given lots of opportunities at home to be responsible!
