Ishmael has been attacked by men even crazier than the soldiers. And sometimes, they didn't collect body parts as trophies, they collected men to fight in the war.

Ishmael is alone and is struggling to stay on his feet. He constantly fights his body to keep moving and stay alive. He also forces himself up a tree in his weakened state.

Ishmael has been confronted with the rebels and has nearly died several times. He is not fighting to kill them, but to stop them from killing him.
