Learning - LIFE SUCCESS MATRIX
As educators, we are well aware of the need to encourage good values in our students. But how many of us actually take the time to consider our own personal values? Your values, of course, clarify what's important to you. They drive the way you live your life. Successful teachers know what their own personal values are and make sure they live their life by them. However, in the hustle and bustle and busyness of school life, personal values can sometimes be neglected. For example, if one of your personal values is to 'have fun', and you are not having any, your life will soon be out of balance. Similarly, if one of your values is ‘family’, and you are not spending enough time with them because of work commitments, feelings of guilt and frustration will start to set in.
Some people know their own personal values intrinsically and live their lives accordingly. Some of us, myself included, need to be reminded when we are getting off track. A technique that works very well is to list what you consider to be your top ten personal values in order of priority. You then 'connect' with these values once a week to ensure that the way you are living your life is in fact aligned with your values. For example, my top ten true values are love, esteem, connection/fun, achievement, recognition, learning, contribution, security, health, calmness. I know that if any of these values are being neglected I need to realign my actions so that they are not.
What are your top ten values? Are you living by them?
Work/life balance is a phrase that is used quite often these days. Teachers know that trying to achieve it is a great challenge. The first step is to accept that sometimes our life will be out of balance. We oscillate between times of pressure and relaxation. The answer lies in knowing how to relax, and how to push it when required. We also need to recognise the state we are in at any given time and make a conscious decision to either maintain or change that state - do we need to relax or push it?
The Life Success Matrix provides a model to assess how balanced your life is, and gives you some direction to help you live the life you want to live. It encourages people to develop their own personal philosophy and set personal goals in each of the four success zones. We need to spend an adequate amount of time in each of these zones in order to live a balanced, fulfilled life. The Life Success Matrix indicates what is likely to happen if you do not spend enough time in either of the four zones.

ipads
Can I have all the classroom and teacher iPads returned to the Library by Monday morning please? I would really appreciate it if teachers sent the iPads to the Library. They can be placed on the borrowing bench.
Have a wonderful day!
Kindest Regards

SRC and Captain Elections
Thank you to all students who nominated and to Mrs Conroy for workshops and training to prepare all nominees and conduct the elections.
For those students who did not nominate or were not selected for the SRC there are also 12 positions available as Sports Captains to be elected at the start of 2016. We encourage students to also consider those leadership opportunities for next year. It is also always wonderful to see the number of students nominated for citizenship awards each year who are not elected representatives – these contributions are also highly valued and recognised.

Week 11 Timetable Impacts
As is our regular school practice each year and considering the timetable impacts of week 11 (Cool Kid Treat Day, School Development Days - one already completed, Classroom Moving Days and Organisation / clean up) our school's continuing custom and practice is to change the normal RFF in week 11 and alter it to combined class activities as arranged and coordinated across the stage. This will enable classes to be flexible and arrange collaborative supervision to assist these impacts. Please assist by ensuring your supervisor is aware of any planning impacts that need to be identified so they can be fully considered and plan with flexible supervision alternatives required across the Stage and School. Thank you for your continuing work and cooperation as we rapidly complete the end of year school activities !
Entry to school site over holidays - WH&S
As has been the new WH&S custom and practice this year - if you need to enter the school site (accompanied) you are to notify the principal and your supervisor by text (Principal mobile - 0428172322) when you are entering the site and the another text advising that you have exited the site safely. Thank you for ensuring you are aware of and follow the required WH&S requirements to protect your and all staff's safety in this matter!
THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR WORK AND SUPPORT IN 2015!
Time to relax and try something new.. see you in 2016 ....
