GHS Weekly Newsletter

Good Evening Leopards!

After a long 5 day weekend, we are excited to welcome our Leopards back first thing tomorrow morning! It's a short 3-day week, but one full of engaged Leopard Learners!

This week we begin our final six weeks grading period and with less than 30 days left in the school year, it's time for our Leopard Learners to finish strong. We encourage you to connect to your student's attendance and grade and monitor their progress on parent portal. If you need assistance in accessing the portal, please call our front office at 940.665.5528

As always, thank you for allowing us to be part of your student's journey. Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions, concerns or ideas you would like to share!

With Leopard Pride,

Melissa Hutchison, Principal (Proud GHS Graduate)

April Teacher of the Month - Jeff Wolf

GHS teacher and coach, Jeff Wolf, is the GISD Secondary Teacher of the Month. In addition to teaching Algebra I, Wolf is also the Head Boys Basketball coach at GHS. Although it is his first year at GISD, he has been in education a total of 16 years. In the classroom, Coach Wolf works to ensure that his lessons are targeted and dynamic each and every day. His lesson includes opportunities for whole class, guided group practice, and one-on-one feedback. He strategically uses whiteboards in the classroom as a way to check for understanding and to coach and provide opportunity for adjustment in the moment. Coach Wolf's students are always engaged as he provides a culture in the classroom where students are igniting a passion for learning math!
