6th Grade Camp Postponment
We are sorry to share that the scheduled departure for 6th Grade camp tomorrow morning has been postponed due to poor weather and road conditions which causes safety concerns for our buses. As a result, we will not be transporting students and staff to Camp Cuyamaca tomorrow. When we receive more information we will update you regarding the postponement.
Tomorrow will be a regular school day and bell schedule. Please plan to arrive with your materials ready to learn. We appreciate your understanding and will update you as soon as more information becomes available.

School Update—Cell Phone Policy
We feel it is important that when students are in school, they stay present and engaged within our Meadowbrook Community. We have also experienced a lack of digital citizenship and the misuse of cell phones.
When we return from district recess on Monday, February 27th, we will no longer allow the use of cell phones during the school day.
Please refer to our new MBMS cell phone policy below:
Cell Phone Policy
Meadowbrook’s updated cell phone expectation is for students to power down their cell phone as they enter campus. Student cell phones should remain off during the school day to focus on learning. At the end of the school day, students may power on their cell phone as they exit campus.
Violation of phone policy:
Violation of phone policy will result in confiscation of the phone by school staff.
Phones will be held in the Assistant Principal’s office to be returned to the student at the end of the school day.
Repeated violations of our phone policy will result in permanent loss of phone privileges for the remainder of the school year.

PUSD 2023-2024 Continuing Student Registration is Coming in March!
Online Continuing Student Registration will be open from March 1- March 31, 2022. Parents and Guardians will receive an email notification once the website is open. Meadowbrook must receive a completed digital packet for all returning students. This will allow for proper placement of your student for the 2023-2024 school year. This annual digital process will allow a family to complete one single “family” packet instead of completing one packet per student. Packets can be completed using any computer, tablet or smartphone with an internet connection.
In preparation of this process, now is the time to confirm that you know your parent login username and password. This information will be needed to complete the registration packet. Please take a moment and ensure you can log into https://sis.powayusd.com. If you do not know your username and/or password, you can visit https://password.powayusd.com to retrieve your login credentials.

Intradistrict Transfer Timeline for 2023-2024 School Year
The PUSD transfer window is open! For families who live in the Poway Unified School District (PUSD) boundaries and would like to request their student attend a PUSD school other than their school of residence, the transfer request window will open February 1, 2023 for the 2023-2024 school year. This includes incoming siblings of current students.
Transfer requests can be made on the Poway Unified School District website. Per PUSD Board Policy 5116.1(b), the window is open each year from February 1 through March 31 for the following school year. No exceptions will be made.
Please note: Decisions on transfers are made by the Student Attendance and Discipline Office, not the schools.

It’s Not Just About Free or Reduced-Price Meals
Although school meals are now free to all students under California’s new Universal Meals Program, the application for free and reduced-price meals is still very important. School funding depends in part on the number of students that qualify for free or reduced-price meals. With all students now eating for free, fewer families are completing the application and schools are at risk of losing funds. Household income information is confidential and applying online is quick and easy. Plus, students that qualify for free or reduced-price meals may also qualify for discounts on transportation, SAT and AP tests, home internet, and college application fees. Apply online at MySchoolApps.com, or pick up a paper application in the school office.
Free School Breakfast & Lunch
All PUSD students are eligible to receive free breakfast and lunch meals regardless of income for the 2022-2023 school year. Meadowbrook will have breakfast available at 7:30 A.M. on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and 8:50 A.M. on Wednesdays. Please see the PUSD Food and Nutrition Website and School Menus for more information.
Parents/Guardians are still encouraged to complete a meal application online to receive other benefits such as a Pandemic EBT card for each child. The website to apply is www.myschoolapps.com. Please see the More than a Meal flyer for more information.
Paper meal applications are available in our front office.
