  • EUSD is Hiring!

Dear Families and Staff,

EUSD has had a long history of incredible parent and community volunteers who have helped to shape and enhance our programs and experiences for our students. We are excited to bring volunteers back on campus to serve our students while maintaining our priority of student and staff health and safety.

We have outlined the following timeline and process for returning volunteers to campus:

Beginning December 1, 2021, volunteers supporting extracurricular activities and events will be welcomed back to campus. These events include things such as art parents, garden, running club, parties, book fairs, lunch games, or conducting assemblies.

Beginning January 24, 2022, volunteers supporting classroom instruction such as reading groups, small group math, 1:1 student support will be welcomed back to campus. Additionally, volunteers for field trips can begin.

In order to adhere to new CDPH guidelines including mandatory vaccination requirements for volunteers, we are requiring interested volunteers to complete an online application and to upload necessary documents. The volunteer application also includes acknowledgement of the need to follow EUSD COVID-19 safety protocols while on campus and to follow a volunteer code of conduct. Each week, school sites will receive an updated list of volunteers that are eligible to be on campus. Please allow one week for your completed application to be approved. Applications received by Friday will be on the approved list by the following Friday. This list is generated from the completed application and indicates to the school site that the volunteer meets the necessary requirements including vaccination status. To complete the volunteer application, please click this link. You will need your Driver’s License or ID and your vaccination record.

Once approved, volunteers will be invited or scheduled according to the site or classroom needs. School sites may have additional orientations and/or trainings per their usual process. Please look for specific information from your site principal about requirements related to your school.

For more information, please use this link to review our Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) page.

Visitors to campus for events, etc., do not need to complete a Volunteer application.

As always, please know we appreciate your patience and support as we have worked to bring back volunteers. You have been missed.

Warmly,

Andrée Grey, Ed.D.

Superintendent

Equity Webinar for Parents

Earlier this week, EUSD held the first in a series of Parent Equity Webinars. In previous newsletters, we invited all EUSD families to join us for or view these webinars that provide an overview of the district Equity work this year. Shared in the first webinar are the District’s Board Policy, Equity Plan, the focus of this year’s professional learning for all EUSD staff, and some samples of classroom work. The webinar was recorded in English and Spanish and is available at this link.

Vaccine Information

Students ages 5 and above are now eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine. Students who are vaccinated will not have to follow the same modified quarantine procedures if they are vaccinated. They would no longer be excluded from extracurricular activities or need to be tested if they are a close contact of an individual testing positive for COVID-19.

If you plan to get your child vaccinated, first check with your health care provider for availability. If you cannot get a vaccination from a health care provider, visit myturn.ca.gov or the County of San Diego vaccination website, or check with your local pharmacy or community clinic. To learn more about COVID-19 vaccines and the vaccination process, please visit the county’s resource webpage.

If you choose to get your child vaccinated, we will ask for you to share the vaccination card or updated immunization card with the school for our records. Specific information about how to do this will be provided in the coming weeks.
