St. Luke Weekly SMORE
January 22, 2022
Leadership Message
The Gospel this Sunday is from St. Luke. In St. Luke's Gospel you will find reason to be grateful to him. He put in a written record the words and works of God, so that we "would understand the certainty of the faith in which we have been instructed." We are grateful for this understanding as it helps clarify the way we live our lives.
This week we focused our well being on ‘Taking Notice’. To ‘Take Notice’ is about paying attention (on purpose) to what is going on around you and how you feel, in the present moment. It is sometimes hard to see how just ‘Taking Notice’ can help us feel happier and healthier. Taking the time to focus on the here and now within this busy, confusing and sometimes scary world we live in can help us in a number of ways:
We can enjoy life and appreciate what we have
We can to begin to understand ourselves better
It can help us to stay calm
We can also think about how to approach challenges
‘Take Notice’ is connected to mindfulness – a popular practice that encourages people to notice and accept their current thoughts and feelings, whilst staying in the present moment (which means trying not to focus on the past or future). This week our students took notice of how they are feeling and how those around them are feeling. We will continue practicing the ways of being mindful this week as we live our lives through the words of God and by remembering we are "Called To More."
Have a great week Everyone!
Blessings,
