MESSAGE FROM MRS. MOTZNY

Dear Parents,

We need your help! We have only met half of our goal for our fundraiser. Our fundraiser is crucial to helping fund the amazing programs that PTO provides such as; garden, Biztown, field day, class parties, etc. Any extra funds will go towards new playground enhancements. Please consider participating in our fundraiser through Charleston Wrap or by a direct donation to PTO. Every little bit helps. Thank you for your consideration.

Our fence is almost complete. The last stage is the activation of the "badge access gates." During the school day our staff members will be able to enter with their school badge. The gates will be unlocked each evening (Monday-Friday) from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The gates will be unlocked from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. The badge reader by entrance 19 is working. The badge reader by the portable building is not working. We apologize for the inconvenience, and we hope to have both gates working soon.

Sincerely,

Heather Motzny

Nature Trails

Do you love the great outdoors and helping students learn? Then our third and fifth grade Nature Trails might be for you! Sampson third and fifth graders will attend Nature Trails on January 19th (math/sci homerooms) and January 20th (ELAR homerooms). We will need parents at the stations to help facilitate the activities and teach the concepts. Volunteers must be currently trained (year 2021 and up) since the Trails has a completely new curriculum. Please see the following for training details and know we will be coordinating grade level sign ups soon:

Character Education

We are excited to begin our new Character Education program in CFISD this year, Bringing Out the Best. Each month we will focus on a positive trait at school. Students will be encouraged to continue to talk about and show this trait at home and out in the community. For the month of September our focus will be School Pride.

You can see the character traits we will work on each month and access each month’s lessons through the district website here: Bringing Out the Best

Inaugural Beautification Day

FRIENDLY REMINDER!!

Please join us THIS Saturday, September 24, 2022 from 8-10 am for Sampson PTO’s Inaugural BEAUTIFICATION Day, brought to you by Sampson PTO’s newly developed Beautification Committee.

What does the Beautification Committee do?

This committee will be working to BEAUTIFY the front of Sampson: the two entryway flower beds near the main office entrance, plus the flower beds lining the front of Sampson. With the help of our landscaping guru, Marc, we will be hosting monthly, family friendly events (trimming, weeding, sweeping – all the landscaping “things”) to continue keeping Sampson’s school lining flower beds maintained and looking beautiful for all to enjoy.

What do you need to bring?

All we absolutely need is YOU (plus any family members that you’d like to bring, these events are always family friendly!)!! Please feel free to bring any trash bags, trimming and weeding tools, etc., but know that we will provide them, as well.
