Shark Tank at Daphne Middle School

Shark Tank was happening this week at Daphne Middle School! Students in Ms. Schneider's Career Tech have been working for a month on this entrepreneur project, which combines five of their sixteen clusters: communication, business, marketing, information technology, and finance. They worked in groups to either invent or innovate a product or business. Wednesday through Friday of last week were spent pitching their ideas and asking for loans from special guest "sharks" who are business people of our community who volunteered their time to the project.

Toys for tots

Starting November 4, there will be boxes in each homeroom. Students can bring new, unwrapped toys for the kids who never get toys on Christmas. The class that brings the most toys will get a donut party!

Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween! Make sure when you go trick-or-treating, you go with an adult and he/she checks your candy before eating it all. Be safe!

Daphne Middle School particpates in the Boxtops for Education program, which means we collect Boxtop coupons! Two times in the school year, we will send in our boxtops, and the company sends us a check for the Library! Boxtops can be turned in to the Library, or to the school office. Bring as many as you can!

Boograms were a success! They were delivered to everyone who bought them and were sent to their homerooms! Special thanks to Ms. Schneider, Mrs. Nettles, and the Fleurettes!

Championship game

This Wednesday Daphne played Foley in the County Championship and lost 14 - 7. Although we lost the CHAMPIONSHIP game, we were an outstanding undefeated team. It's okay to lose. The record for both teams was 7 and 1. Foley just won the bigger game. We'll learn from our mistakes and pull through next year. Go Trojans!!!!!!!

Still the Real Winners

Even though we did not win the championship game all the hard work that the players put into this season still paid off. We are always proud of our football team. One loss will not destroy our team spirit. We are all still very proud to wear our purple and gold colors! Thank you to our football team for making it through a tough season with many nail biting games. Good Season 8th graders! We will miss you next year and bring the trophy home next year 7th graders. GO TROGANS! PROUD TO BE A TROJAN!

Pep rally fun!

Congratulations to those who made the DHS Softball Team!

Girls from DMS made both the Varsity and Junior Varsity teams at Daphne High School. Way to go, girls!! We are proud of you and your hard work!!

Student Interview with Karsen Pierce

Our very own 8th grader, Karsen Pierce, made the Varsity Softball team at Daphne High School this week! We couldn't be more proud of her! She has been playing softball from the time she was 3 years old and it shows! While during softball season, she says she practices about 18 hours per week, but even spends about 8 hours per week during the off season playing. Her main positions are pitcher, catcher, and 1st base. When asked how she felt about being an 8th grader on the Varsity team, she said it feels "really good!"
