Twin Peaks Middle School

Weekly RAM Newsletter

A Brief Note from Dr. Burke

Dear RAM families,

We hope that all our 6th graders who went to camp, had a great time. In the event you were in a hurry to get home and left behind your luggage, please check in the front office. We have a few errant bags, pillows, shoes, etc.

We have officially entered master scheduling season. What’s that you ask? It is the time of year we begin planning for next year’s classes. Part of this process involves seeking student input regarding elective classes. The Twin Peaks AVID elective is one possibility. AVID is a college and career readiness elective class that prepares students with strategies and support to achieve academic excellence in high school and beyond.

Current 6th and 7th grade students and their families are invited to attend the AVID Open House & informational meeting being held this Wednesday evening from 6:00pm to 7:30 pm in room 205.

Current 8th graders interested in learning more about AVID in high school will have an opportunity to hear from the Poway High AVID team this Wednesday during Ram.

We hope you will attend these informative sessions to learn more about this wonderful program. If you have any questions, please contact our AVID Coordinator, Mrs. Matautia, at

That's it for now. We look forward to seeing all our students tomorrow, and remember, it's a 3/5/1 day.
