K/1 Families' Help Needed for Mar 6 Staff Appreciation Lunch!
Hello Claxton 1st Grade and Kindergarten Families! Throughout this school year, we're sharing our appreciation with the teachers and staff at Claxton with a series of organized lunches provided by the families and PTO. The 1st Grade and Kindergarten Families will provide our fourth lunch, a baked potato bar, on Wednesday, March 6. K/1 families can efficiently sign up on this Google Sheet to help out--
If you have difficulty with the sign-up sheet, please email Michelle Gray with the item(s) you would like to bring and she will record it for you. To make it even easier we will be collecting all items in the morning drop off line from 7:15-8:00 AM on the 6th.

The next training sessions, which usually happen about once a month, are on the following dates at the Asheville City Schools' Central Office at 85 Mountain Street. Please check the linked schedule above for exact room location at ACS Central Office.

Tickets and CHILDCARE Now Available for Claxton's "A Night at the Museum" Auction!
The entire Claxton community – parents, guardians, grandparents, friends, teachers, and staff – is invited to celebrate and support Claxton at our upcoming "A Night at the Museum" Auction! Please purchase your tickets now for the most fun party of the year. This year's event will be at the Asheville Museum of Science (AMOS) on March 29th from 7-10:30pm. Tickets are available online HERE.
All Claxton families are welcome!---Please don’t let the ticket price prevent you from attending. For financial assistance please contact Mr. Ackerman at email@example.com / (828) 350-6503.
Childcare for children ages 12 months to 12 years old will be available (with reservation in advance) at the downtown YMCA from 5:45 - 9:30pm. The cost of this Parent’s Night Out program is $15 for Y members and $26 for non-members. Please register your kids at the downtown YMCA as soon as possible, as spots will fill up fast. You can call the downtown Y at (828) 210-9622 or stop by to register. The Y is giving Claxton parents an early sign up period before opening it up to the larger Asheville community.

Call for Auction Donations!
Now is the time! Our Claxton Auction is coming up on March 29. Please help us gather non-cash donations for the auction! All money collected from the auction goes to fund PTO services, such as playground redesign, food and books for students in need, money for classroom supplies and books, mini grants, staff appreciation meals and gifts, and more.
Are you an artist willing to donate a piece of art?
Do you have a service to donate (yoga classes, will services, acupuncture, massages, photo sessions, etc.)?
Do you have a second home to donate for a weekend?
Can you provide lessons as a donation (dance, cooking, sailing, etc.)?
Would your place of work donate gift certificates or tickets?
Do you have a contact you might be able to ask for a donation?

Yearbooks on Sale Now!
$20 each - orders due by April 1st, 2019
All 5th Graders get a free yearbook (no need to order).
All other students: Order online at www.schoolannual.com or return order form and payment to your teacher (extra forms available in the office). Make checks payable to Claxton PTO.
Claxton yearbooks are printed in full color and feature all student portraits and many candid photos. Yearbooks will be distributed near the end of the school year. Order yours now – supplies are limited!
5th Grade Families - Buy an ad to celebrate your student in the Yearbook! Ads due March 15th.
