Rocket Review
Week of June 6, 2022
Notes from the Principal's Desk
Happy Last Week of School! Hard to believe the 2021-2022 school year is coming to a close. The weather still isn't feeling quite like summer, but our students are ready for the break!
Color Run was a Success! THANK YOU to the PTO, parent volunteers, students, and staff for a successful event! While we didn't reach the $30,000 goal, Morgan students raised over $25,000 for Morgan Volunteers PTO. Decisions on the allocation of these funds will be made with the PTO in the fall.
Field Day: THANK YOU to Mrs. Phelan, parent volunteers, PTO, staff, and students for another great day outside! Our students had fun with the different events, bounce houses, obstacle course, and the friendly competition in games. It was so nice to be able to host such events again after nearly 3 years!
6th Grade Move Up: This will be held on Friday, June 10 in the AM, after students arrive and have attendance taken in classes. Attendance for 6th grade graduation is limited to two people per student due to the increase in COVID numbers. This event is being held indoors (gymnasium) with spacing for seating.
Each student will receive 2 tickets for this event with their name on them. If you are in need of additional tickets, please reach other to other Morgan 6th grade parents to see if anyone is unable to attend and/or is only using 1 of the 2 distributed tickets.
Grade 6 & Grade 1 Technology Return: The last week of school students in Grade 6 will be returning their UCS laptop and charger to Morgan. Students in Grade 1 will be returning their UCS iPad and charger to Morgan on Wednesday, June 8. If your child is participating in summer school for these grades, they will be issued a device in summer school to use. First graders moving to second will receive a new issued laptop in the fall.
Sixth graders will return their laptops on Thursday, June 9. After moving to 7th grade, students will receive a device from their Junior High in the fall.
Leaving Morgan??: If you are moving and/or will not be attending Morgan Elementary in the Fall of 2022, please notify the Morgan Office (officemorgan@uticak12.org) and make sure to return your UCS issued device and charger no later than Friday, June 11.
Menchie's Restaurant Days--June 9 & 10: Both 1/2 Days of school Menchie's is hosting a Morgan Menchie day at the 25 Mile/Van Dyke location. Grab some yummy frozen yogurt and mention Morgan Elementary for the PTO to receive a portion of the sale as a donation from Menchies.
Breakfast & Lunch for Fall 2022: The federal government will no longer be providing free breakfast and lunch to all students. Starting in the fall of 2022, students will need to purchase a breakfast or lunch (costs to come soon). Families in need can complete a Free/Reduced Lunch application for fall 2022 AFTER July 1, 2022. More information located under the UCS menu below.
School Calendar 2022-2023: Many have inquired about the next UCS school calendar. At this point in time, there isn't a calendar available. When updates are available, they will be shared by UCS.
Enjoy the last week of school!
