Elite Night -April 13, 2019
JHS DEBATE
Jacksonville High School competed in four middle school debates with the Northeast Alabama Debate League during the 2018/2019 school year. In each of these four competitions, each team wrote and presented both the affirm and negate resolutions. The Awards Ceremony was held on Tuesday, April 9th in JSU’s Martin Hall. Jacksonville High School won First Place in the overall Middle School Team Competition which was based on percentages of wins for the year.
In addition, first, second, and third place medals were awarded to students based on an average of their scores throughout the year. These went to Andreea Trifas, Sophie Bivins, and Marian Berg, respectively.
The Competition Debate Team members who competed in the NEADL Debate League this year are Marian Berg, Sophie Bivins, Braelyn Edwards, Sarabeth Harrell, Reese Hines, Maddie Holt, Bennett Martin, Andreea Trifas, and Andrew Willingham.
