MUSIC WITH IPADS

REVOLUTIONISE CLASSROOM COMPOSITION AND PERFORMANCE

Unique, world-class practical course for KS1-3 teachers. Developing Musicianship Through Creativity

iPads allow all learners to create high-quality compositions quickly and easily, leading to outstanding outcomes in a range of subjects and developing musicianship and knowledge of music theory. This full day course combines the musical expertise of Ben Sellers, teacher, musician and author of acclaimed textbook 'Teaching Music with Garageband for iPad' with the cross-curricular approach to raising standards developed by Mr Andrews Online.

Teachers will leave with a wealth of effective, practical ideas that can be used immediately in the classroom. Activities will be based on best practice when using tablet technology to teach music, with clear links to the New National Curriculum and a strong cross-curricular emphasis.

The day will cover:

  • A hands-on, beginners guide and overview to four key high-impact music-making apps.
  • Creating music videos and film soundtracks.
  • Creating iPad ensembles.
  • Working with SEN/D and hard-to-engage students.
  • A free paperback copy of the 'Teaching Music with Garageband for ipad', which includes complete lesson plans and assessment material for immediate classroom delivery

What other people have said:

“...powerfully simple and clever, giving the children complete empowerment to create songs that sound very sophisticated. I no longer feel terrified about how to use GarageBand in a classroom setting.” - Primary Music Specialist, Sheffield

"The whole day's session was really well paced and I felt that you really helped me understand how the iPads could be used to help the children explore composition in a really meaningful way. Your explanation about finding a rhythm, harmony and melody, with a simple 8-bar structure using Garageband was powerfully simple and clever, giving the children complete empowerment to create songs that sound very sophisticated. " - NAHT Conference Delegate

As an ipad novice, I was a little apprehensive. However I found the session really informative and supportive.- NAHT Conference
