From the Principal
Hello, Cecilton Family,
I hope you are finding time on the weekends to rest, spend time with family, and focus on self-care, such as family movie time, reading a good book, or journaling about ideas you have about the future.
We are very excited to welcome more students back into the school building starting tomorrow. As a reminder, all students will need a completed health questionnaire each day they enter the school building. (English. Spanish)
Our Cecilton Staff is preparing a Family Family Focus Night. Join us for an informative evening to teach you how to use Google Classroom (grades 1-5) and Seesaw (Preschool, PreK, and K) and more. We will share tips and tricks and also share CCPS and CES resources. There will be time for you to ask questions about school, too. We would love to hear from you and get your input in order to provide the supports you feel you need. Please complete this quick Family Focus Night Survey by February 12th. Check out our flyer with more information below.
Students need to bring all school supplies with them each day, especially their Chromebook and charger. Mrs. Barry asks that if your child is scheduled to be in the building on their ART day, please remember to have them bring their personal art supplies with them. At this time, we are unable to share materials and require students to have their own individual supplies. If you are in need of supplies, please email Mrs. Barry at Jkbarry@ccps.org with your child's name, homeroom teacher, and requested supplies. Thank you for your continued support and cooperation! Required materials include:
- Grades Pre-K-2nd: Pencils, Pencil Sharpener, Crayons, Glue Sticks, Scissors, Markers
- Grades 3-5: Pencils, Pencil Sharpener, Bottle Glue, Watercolor Paints, Scissors, Markers, Color Pencil, Sketchbook
You can also access the third marking period course descriptions here: 3rd Marking Period Course Descriptions. It is important to note that kindergarten students will start to earn grades and that Computer Science will continue for the third marking period before returning to Information Literacy for the fourth marking period.
February is an exciting month. We will also celebrate the 100th Day of School on Wednesday, February 10th. Check out our CES 100th Day of Learning Activities. We are excited to learn more about black history and to celebrate our successes this school year. We will also be celebrating Random Acts of Kindness the week of February 15th. Check out the activities for Random Acts of Kindness week here.
Additionally, the Cecil County Public School's Annual Winter Art Show is virtual this year. We are so excited to recognize the art work of 3 of our Cecilton Students, Kassandra L., Rowan B., and Miely M-R. Congratulations! Check out Art Show here.
