Grade: Session 3 Recap & Mentoring
October
Dear Grade participants and parents,
We have been making personal calls to each Grade family, but if we haven't gotten a hold of you yet, the sessions are currently scheduled as follows:
Tuesday, October 20th (tomorrow)
8:15 - 9:00 p.m.
Saturday, October 31st
10 - 10:45 a.m.
There will be other sessions scheduled in the future if you would like to attend and can't make one of these. We would like to let you know about why we need to build a new center, how it will affect the community, and how you can help spread the word. We will also show you the design of the new center and our progress so far in the project.
Mentoring for the October Grade session begins today at Swift from 3 - 6 p.m. Next Saturday we'll have mentoring at Western Academy from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m.
All the best!
Alex

The Big Picture: Freshman Seminar
The freshmen discussed Character and Maturity with Mr. Janeiro - a relevant topic for any age group - but especially relevant when faced with all the choices and challenges of freshman year.
Mr. Janeiro went through a scale of maturity, showing how one goes from a primarily self-centered child to a primarily other-centered adult. Unfortunately, this transition may never take place in some people, leaving them as adults in the biological only!
Professional Sophomore & Junior Seminar
Filling the Gaps: Senior Seminar
Led by Victor Saenz, the seniors addressed the question: is the New Testament reliable as a historical document? The seniors were invited look at how the New Testament fares with respect to key features of a historical document: the intention of the writer, the quality and quantity of the witnesses, the completeness and quality of the written record, et al. In looking at such features--setting aside philosophical presuppositions--the New Testament passes muster quite clearly.
