Catch-22 is a novel about the craziness of ww2 from the perspective of Yossarian, a bombardier with very crazy yet realistic opinions of war. He is stuck in a struggle for his life in which no matter what he does he loses, the ultimate catch-22 eventually driving him and his bomber group insane. The book is amazing and also highly critically aclaimed. http://www.nytimes.com/books/98/02/15/home/heller-catch.html
