Weekly Updates from Mrs. K

About the Principal
My beautiful children, pictured above, left the nest in 2017 and prompted my husband and I to relocate to the community of Gridley. You may know my husband, he has been coaching our Bulldogs Football team for the past few years. I am a true bred educator from a family of teachers, having grown up in a small agricultural town in Southern California which is now completely unrecognizable. Moving to Gridley was like coming home. I am the happiest when interacting with young people of all ages or having a little alone time in my garden.
Character Trait of the Month
Courage: to choose what is good, right, and kind even when it is hard or scary.
This month we’re talking about the virtue of Courage – to help our children be courageous and learn to conquer things that frighten or scare them. Children need reassurance that fear is one of our feelings and to help them understand that it’s okay to feel afraid. Courage isn’t fearlessness, but instead our ability to choose the right thing even when we are scared!
School Site Council Volunteers
Thank you to the parents who stepped up and volunteered to serve on our School Site Council. We needed five parents and we had five volunteers so there was no need for an election. Please help us welcome them!
