Ultimate Frisbee & Soccer Coaches Needed
As we approach the beginning of the school year, it’s also, very excitingly, the start of the school district athletic year! This fall we kick things off with Ultimate Frisbee and Girls’ Soccer, two sports that usually draw many of our students. We face the challenge this year of not having enough coaches to coach our two Junior Varsity soccer teams and so are asking that if you have an interest in spending Monday and Thursday afternoons and Saturday mornings leading or assisting with one of the teams, please let Derek Grandbois at mailto:djgrandbois@seattleschools.org
We cannot field these teams if we don't have coaches.
Assistant Soccer Coach
We are currently in need of a paid Assistant Soccer Coach. The pay is about $780 per season. For this position you will need to be cleared by Seattle Public Schools. The time commitment is 2 days of 2 hour practices and games on Saturday.
3 Ultimate Frisbee Coach Volunteers
We currently need three Ultimate Frisbee coaches. This is a volunteer position.
SPS Athletics Limiting Number of Teams per Sport Teams for Middle School
We learned that SPS Athletics is only supporting two teams per sport at the middle school level except for Ultimate Frisbee. This means that for Girls & Boys Soccer, Volleyball and Girls & Boys Basketball there will only be Varsity and Junior Varsity teams.

Please consider volunteering one day a week to support our administrators during lunches. Your duties will include:

- No "disciplining" is required. If you spot something that needs attention let an administrator know and they will handle it.
You will need to be cleared via an SPS Volunteer Application found here: https://www.seattleschools.org/departments/volunteer/
Please contact Julia Detering at jrdetering@seattleschools.org for more information.
SAVE THE DATE! Curriculum Night - September 27
Come and meet the team of teachers working with your child!

SBIRT Healthy Youth Survey for 6th & 8th Graders
Washington State Healthy Youth Survey during Fall 2023
Our school is participating in the Washington State Healthy Youth Survey during fall 2023. The survey will be given to students in Grades 6, 8, 10 and 12 in large districts and students in Grades 6 through 12 in small school districts. The Healthy Youth Survey includes questions related to physical activity and diet, unintentional and intentional injury, substance use, sexual behaviors, abuse, risk and protective factors, and access to school-based services. Survey results are used by schools, communities, and state agencies to plan programs to support our youth and reduce their risks. Participation in the survey is voluntary and the students’ answers are anonymous. There are no codes or information used to match a survey to a student. Please read the Parent and Student Notification Letter for more information about the Healthy Youth Survey here: https://www.seattleschools.org/about/official-notices/protection-of-pupil-rights-amendment/#youth
Washington State Fair - Puyallup Student Tickets Available
We received Washington State Fair tickets for students. We don't have enough for everyone so we won't be passing them out to the classes. However, we are happy to give to students. If your student would like fair tickets, please ask them to come to the Main Office.
