Reading
We will review r controlled words (examples: park, march, store, and more). In reading workshop we will continue to practice sounding like the character of that story when we read. We will also learn how clues help a reader know how to read a story. We will hold reading conferences with students and students will partner read. In writing workshop, students will write fiction stories. We will learn how writers use a beginning, middle, and end to write a story. We'll even try our hand at writing chapters. We will also learn to elaborate by learning from professional authors.
Math
We will review adding two digit numbers with regrouping. We will use sketching and making number bonds as our strategies. We will play math games in centers. We will work on addition and subtraction fluency and do quick fluency checks with students. We will do number talks.
