Principal's Update: September
Hello Rawson Community!
I hope this message finds you well and full of excitement for the upcoming school year! The air is buzzing with anticipation, and we are thrilled to welcome our Rawson families back through out doors on September 5th.
We look forward to working with your child to develop new relationships, strengthen current relationships, and uncover all the ways we will all grow this year. We understand that with the excitement of a new school year may also come some apprehension and uncertainty. Please feel assured that we are fully committed to creating a consistent and predictable environment that will allow every student thrive. Our dedicated Rawson staff is here to support your child's development every step of the way.
For your convenience, a copy of the Welcome Back Letter was sent to your email. If you haven't had a chance to review it yet, I encourage you to do so carefully. Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to our school office. We are here to assist you in any way we can.
Wishing you all the best,
Nick Anton
Wolf Tracks!
Each month, a new edition of "Rawson WolfTracks" will be released. This newsletter is designed to keep you informed and up-to-date with all the important information and events happening at our school. If you ever need to reference past editions, you can find them in our archive here.
We take great pride in our Rawson community and the collaborative effort that makes it so special. Thank you for being an essential part of our school family. Together, we will make this school year a memorable and successful one for your child.
Student Will Be Absent Form 2023-24
We miss our students when they are not in school! If your student is sick, we hope they are well soon.
As a partner in your student's education, we want to work with you to have students in school as much as possible.
Please let us know if there is anything that we can do to help with the consistent, positive attendance of every student.
Important 4K Information!
Hello from Mrs. O. and Mrs. Wangard!
We are so excited to welcome our youngest learners to Rawson! This is just a reminder that we have staggered start days on Tuesday and Wednesday, the first 2 days of school. Students with the last names A-M will come to school on Tuesday and students with the last names N-Z will come on Wednesday. All 4K students will be together on Thursday.
Important Drop-off Reminder
We know that saying good-bye on the first day can be tough. Please know that your child(ren) will be in great hands when they enter the building! Here at Rawson, we have a safety protocol in place that does not allow for families to come in with their children at drop-off. Please make sure to say your good-byes and give hugs before your child walks into school. Thank you for understanding!

Girls On The Run: at Luther this year!
We are excited to get feedback from you as we work to understand from everyone's perspective what is going well in our schools and where we can work together to make some improvements. Note that the survey will be available through 9/12/2023.

Speak Up, Speak Out Wisconsin
The School District of South Milwaukee partners with SPEAK UP, SPEAK OUT (SUSO) hosted by The Wisconsin Department of Justice. SUSO is a comprehensive, one-stop place to turn to with your concerns regarding school safety. A facet of the Resource Center that we are particularly pleased to share with Wisconsin students and parents is the threat reporting system. The SUSO threat reporting system is available 24/7 and is free to all. Students can submit a school safety concern by accessing the app on their Chromebook or by visiting speakup.widoj.gov. Resource Center staff work around-the-clock to respond to reports and to deploy a response locally by communicating directly with school administrators, law enforcement and counselors.
Attendance Expectations and Absence Reporting
Student attendance is required on all regularly scheduled school days per Wisconsin State Statue. Wis. Stat. Sec. 118.16(4)(d) and 118.15(1)(f)
Classroom teachers will be taking regular attendance on all school days, Monday - Friday.
