Now (what has happened this week)

Welcome to our weekly newsletter!

Hello from all of us at Balladen School.

We have, as always, had a great week at Balladen School. There has been so many smiling faces and so much learning taking place!

We all tried to have a restful weekend after the Whitehough trip.

On Monday we were lucky enough to have some of the new Reception children and their parents and carers come to visit with us at school. They had a lovely time in the classroom and I know that the parents really enjoyed listening to Mrs Whitford. Some more children came in on Wednesday and they had a great time at school as well.

On Tuesday many of our children went to the Lancashire Games in Blackpool. You can read all about the event by clicking here. The children had a wonderful time and were a credit to themselves and to our school. Well done everyone!

Lots of our Year 6 children went to visit their new secondary schools on Tuesday. They also had a great time but did say that Balladen was a little bit smaller when they came back! We will really miss them when they go!

On Thursday all of the Year 3 and 4 children visited Gullivers World park. Again the behaviour of the children was excellent and even though there was quite a lot og sugar eaten we made it back to school with smiles on our faces!

On Friday we celebrated learning at our assembly. We gave out so many sports certificates we thought that assembly was never going to end! Mr Grime took the Year 3 children to Barlow Fold where they explored the wood and made pancakes. What a treat for a Friday.

Thank you all for your continued support and we look forward to seeing the children and yourselves on Monday!

Have a wonderful weekend.

Please be careful when driving and parking around school!

Please be very careful when you are driving and parking around the school. I have had a number of parents mentioned to me that their child has been involved in a near miss with a car. This has happened more in the morning than after school.

Please ensure the safety of all of the children at school by being extra careful around school when driving and parking.

Thank you for your support and consideration.
