Counselor's Corner
Counselor Newsletter Info:
Thank you to our wonderful PTA for sponsoring our Day of Compassion for 4th and 5th graders in November. The students had a great time learning about and understanding compassion for others!
Thank you to all of our Lincoln parents and students for all of your donations for Fill the Dome! We had a goal of collecting 800 items and we collected over 1700! Way to go Lincoln!!! It’s a great way that we can work together to support our community.
Counselor lessons in December will focus on:
*Empathy-trying to understand what someone else is feeling (using clues like: look at their face/body, listen to their voice and thinking about the situation)
*Compassion-putting empathy into action; when we practice the empathy skill we can then think “what can I DO or SAY that can help and will show the person I care?”
*Identifying our own feelings and labeling them as COMFORTABLE or UNCOMFORTABLE
*Please take the time to talk with your children about these two skills and provide opportunities to practice. This will help them develop the skills and reinforce their learning.

Hello Lincoln Families!!

We are going to try something new this year. We have started a Lincoln Elementary PE Instagram account! The account name is lincolnelementarype. The account is to show you what we are doing in Physical education! Please spread the word to other Lincoln Families!!
We will be starting our ice skating/boot skating unit in January. Grades 2nd thru 5th will have a chance to wear ice skates. Kindergarten and 1st will be just boot skating. More information will be coming home with the students closer to January!
Anytime you have questions or concerns please give the PE Department a call or email!

Husky Hutch

https://www.donorschoose.org/project/husky-hutch-food-pantry/4622343/Please help us keep students safe!
If you pick up your child from school at the end of the day, we need all vehicles to park parallel to the school so children can safely walk from the sidewalk to the waiting vehicles. Please drive NORTH on 9th street when picking up students.
It is essential that we keep a single file line of cars moving NORTH. When vehicles are double –parked or are moving south, it means students must run in between vehicles. This is extremely dangerous. Even though there is a lot of traffic, the cars clear out quickly. Please wait patiently for a spot to pull up and pick up your child safely. THANKS!
Traffic Safety:
- Single file traffic moving north.
- Do not leave vehicle unattended.
- Be patient– traffic clears out quickly.
- Never double park or have children run between cars.
Tardies/Absences/Appointments
Tardies: Our first bell rings at 8:10. This is the time when students are allowed to go to their lockers and inside their classrooms. Students must be in their classrooms by 8:20. The time from 8:10 to 8:20 is important for organizing and preparing for the day. It is important for all of our students to be on time…meaning in the classroom and ready to learn at 8:20.
Absences: If your child will not be in school, please call our office staff at 446-4900. If we do not hear from you, our office will be calling to check the whereabouts of your child…your child’s safety is always our number one concern. Being on time and having good attendance is crucial for learning. When a child is habitually absent/tardy, there is a negative impact on learning. If you are ever having trouble with getting your child to school on time or your child feeling sick too often, please call the office. Our school counselor, Amy Blesie, would be happy to work with you and offer support and suggestions.
Appointments: If you need to pick up your child during the day, please come to the office to sign he/she out. The office will call your child out of his/her classroom. Due to district policy, we are unable to call your child out of the classroom before you have arrived at the school.
