Mrs. Hemmingsen's Art Class
September 20, 2023
Dear Parents and Guardians,
I hope this letter finds you and your family well and filled with excitement as we settle into a new school year. I am thrilled to welcome your child into my classroom, where creativity knows no bounds and artistic adventures await!
My name is, Mrs. Hemmingsen. I graduated from Wayne State in 2019 with my Bachelors in Art Education. The last four years I taught Middle School and High school art including Ceramics, Drawing, Sculpture, Digital Art, Graphic design, and Art Studio. I am really excited for this big change and I can't wait to get to know the students better so we can make some amazing art!
My Art Class Mission In my art class, I believe that every child is an artist with unique talents waiting to be discovered. My mission is to:
Cultivate Creativity: Encourage students to think outside the box and express themselves freely through various art forms.
Foster Imagination: Spark the imagination of young minds, encouraging them to explore the limitless possibilities of art.
Build Confidence: Provide a safe and supportive environment where students can develop confidence in their creative abilities.
Celebrate Diversity: Explore diverse artistic styles, cultures, and artists to promote cultural awareness and appreciation.
Promote Growth: Help students develop their technical skills, artistic voice, and a lifelong love for the arts.
Art Adventures Ahead Throughout the school year, your child will explore a wide range of art techniques, mediums, and themes. Be prepared to be amazed by their unique creations, from vibrant paintings to intricate sculptures. Be on the lookout for information from Artsonia. We will be uploading works all year.
Stay Connected I believe in open communication with parents and guardians. Please feel free to reach out to me at Laura.Hemmingsen@royaloakschools.org with any questions, concerns, or to share your child's artistic achievements.
I am looking forward to a fantastic year of artistic growth, creativity, and fun! Together, we will create masterpieces and lasting memories. Thank you for entrusting me with your child's artistic journey.
So Excited!
Mrs. Hemmingsen
