Mayor Fadness Serves as FJH "Principal for a Day"

In conjunction with National Principal Month, the Indiana Association of School Principals, Department of Student Activities is pleased to offer the Principal for a Day program. Principal for a Day was created as a vehicle to promote greater community involvement in, and understanding of, the educational process, and the role of the principal in leading Indiana's schools. IASP is proud that Governor Holcomb has proclaimed October 25-29 as Indiana Principals Week.


We were honored to have Mayor Scott Fadness, serve as our Principal for the Day! The mayor directed traffic, supervised breakfast and hallways, read announcements, greeted students, and visited classrooms. Thank you Mayor Fadness, we live in a great community!

A Note From the PTO

We are looking for a FJH parent or guardian to fill the treasurer’s role on the PTO board. The Treasurer will receive all monies of the organization and will keep an accurate record of all transactions. The Treasurer will present a statement of account at every PTO meeting, as well as perform other duties as assigned. This role may be shared by two people. An accounting/bookkeeping background is helpful but not required. If you have questions about the role or know someone who would be great, please email fjhchargerspto@gmail.com.

Join us for a Pottery Painting Event! November 4th immediately after school until 5:15pm Our friends from uPaint Pottery Studio will bring the pottery studio to Fishers Junior High!! There are a variety of items to choose from for painting and all items will be kiln fired and returned to FJH in one week. You can choose a bowl, plate, mug or an ornament. Make something for you or a gift for a special someone! This is an after-school event for Chargers only! Pick up will be at 5:15pm at door #20. Admission includes one piece, paint supplies, and firing. Pieces will be kiln fired offsite and returned to students at school. Checks made out to Fishers Junior High Triangle Club or cash must be included with the below signed permission slip. Please return to school by November 3rd to reserve your spot. Students may bring a snack-no food will be provided. *All materials/paints are 100% non-toxic and easily wash off clothes and kiddos.* Send questions to fjhchargerspto@gmail.com

Panorama Survey

On Tuesday Nov. 2nd, students will be completing the Panorama survey during BEST.


In the spring of 2019, HSE Schools began using the Panorama survey to better understand student’s experience in our schools. This survey helps HSE teachers, administrators and counselors gauge student growth and understanding around social and emotional competencies, which contribute to academic success and increase engagement in the classroom.

21st Century Scholars

Indiana's 21st Century Scholars Program is the state’s premier college scholarship and preparation program for low-income Hoosier students. Students who fulfill the Scholar Pledge are provided up to four years of paid tuition at an eligible college or university. Scholars also receive a variety of support services designed to help them succeed in school and complete college.

Additionally, a series of Skylert announcements will be sent by the district to the first email listed in Skyward. Friday, 12/10/2021, is the deadline for completing the form. There are always families who don’t complete the form because they don’t realize which high school they are districted to, or families who think the process doesn’t apply to them. When in doubt, fill it out!

Crew Carwash to Raise Funds for Youth Mentoring Initiative

Carwash to give away Free Carwashes in support of local nonprofit

FISHERS, IN (October 25, 2021)Crew Carwash, an Indiana-based family business, is excited to announce a partnership to benefit the Youth Mentoring Initiative.

On Saturday through Monday, October 30- November 1, Crew Carwash will provide a free Ultimate Wash, a $20 value, to any customer who visits the new Crew Carwash in Fishers, located at 11650 Exit 5 Pkwy, next to Topgolf. Customers are encouraged to contribute cash or credit card donations, and Crew will donate 100 percent of the proceeds to Youth Mentoring Initiative (YMI).

“We are looking forward to partnering with YMI here in Fishers,” said Sally Grant, executive vice president of Crew Carwash. “We are so proud to continue to grow in central Indiana and are honored to play a role in making an impact on the youth and families in Hamilton County Schools.”

The fundraiser will take place during the official Grand Opening of Crew Carwash. The grand opening weekend will begin with a ribbon cutting ceremony with the OneZone Chamber of Commerce and Mayor Scott Fadness at 10:30 a.m. on Friday morning. The Fishers location, located next to Topgolf at 116th and I-69, is the 38th Crew Carwash location in Indiana. Open every day from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., the celebration will take place all weekend long.

“We are thrilled that Crew Carwash has selected YMI for their charity-of-choice for their first Fishers location,” said YMI executive director Brittany Rayburn. “The donations stemming from this event will directly support connecting students to a caring mentor. We’re grateful for this opportunity while celebrating this milestone with the Crew team.”

Recreational Basketball News:

  • Boys Basketball - Athletes in grades 2nd, 3rd and 6th will begin practicing this Saturday, October 30th. The 1st, 4th and 5th grade divisions will begin practice on November 6th. Please note the kindergarten division kicks off in January. More information here.
  • Girls Basketball - Athletes in kindergarten – 8th grade will take to the courts beginning Saturday, November 6th, for their first practices. We are excited to welcome a record number of female athletes. The league is finalizing team assignments and players should expect to hear from their coaches by early next week.

*Co-ed high school intramural basketball information will be released at the end of November.

Spring Program Registration:

Mark your calendars! Registration for spring baseball, softball, soccer, boys and girls lacrosse, rugby and track and field opens January 1st at myathletics.com.
