Week Of November 10th
Highlights From Last Week....
In Reader's Workshop, we continued to look at the picture AND the first letter of the word to see if it makes sense! We also worked on raising our level of talk with one another. We focused on listening to each other and building our conversation on what our partner said. We increased our stamina to 15 minutes to this week!
In Writers Workshop, we learned how pictures convey meaning. We created a class book with our pictures.
In Math, we started our unit on shapes! I am so proud of our learners!!
In Phonics, we practiced letter sounds and learned the sight words "He" and "Can", please practice these words at home. Our letter of the week was "D".
In Science, we learned about hibernation and migration. We learned what animals do in the winter.
In Social Studies, we learned about Veteran's Day and wrote a thank you note to a real veteran.
In our Second Step program, we continued to learn about our own feelings.
We started sharing our reading into a microphone this week. The kids LOVE reading!! Please see some of our reading below.
