Spring Technology Audit - 2/15-2/19 - (Dates will change once we are back on campus)
Our spring technology audit will be next week, 2/15-2/19, this time I will focus on our mobile assets (iPads, Chromebooks, laptops). This will be including our F2F student assigned devices as well as staff assigned devices. I will be coming around next week during your specials time to scan devices as followed:
PK-1st- Monday 2/15
2nd & 3rd- Tuesday 2/16
4th & 5th - Wednesday 2/17 (5th grade I will be coming around during your LUNCH time, since your specials time is at the end of the day)
Thursday & Friday- I will focus on non-classroom staff, all other mobile devices, and any students that were absent.
1. When you leave for specials that day, please have students place their devices in the carts. This allows for smoother scanning.
2. Pk-2nd, some of your students have Chromebooks in addition to the iPad, stack those on top of the cart.
3. Also, please make sure every device is labeled with the student's name, I can make a label if needed, or you can just tape a sticky note on it.
Please reach out if you have any questions or concerns!

Progress Report 2 for Cycle 3
It's time to let our students and their families know how they are doing in class. Be sure you have updated your grade book over the weekend.
By now you should have at least six grades per subject area. That works out to 12 for Language Arts (6 Reading + 6 Writing = 12 Language Arts).
This should keep you on track to have a minimum of 8 minor grades and 2 major grades for the cycle.
Minor grades = classwork, assignments, homework, and quizzes (counts for 80% of overall grade)
Major grades = tests, projects, products, benchmarks, common assessments (counts for 20% of overall grade)
Teacher Gradebook Lock – Sunday, 2/14/2021 at 11:45 p.m.

TELPAS
Teachers that need to take the second calibration should register and attend training next week. Click here for directions. Please sign up for Wednesday or Thursday so you don't miss our learning meeting on Tuesday.
2-5 Teachers, the window is open to collect writing samples. Remote students can submit their samples through "new quizzes" on Canvas or write by hand and upload a picture of the submission. All writing should be supervised through Google Meet to ensure students are working independently.
Student TELPAS Tutorial Participation Rosters should be submitted here. Thank you Mrs. Parker, Mrs. Davila, Mrs. McCreary, and Mrs. Law for having your roster turned in already.
E-messages from Esther....
Just a reminder: 1069's were due last week and please ensure that all students have or will complete the monthly I-station test.
Thank you to everyone for your patience as I pulled your F2F students for testing and for reaching out as needed to make sure the remote kids came for testing. You are greatly appreciated 🙂.
Substance from Selena.... (Intervention Information - all teachers)
If you are unsure what to focus on during intervention time, HMH has intervention resources laid out by module and skill. Here is the link to a drive with the Spanish and English resources, or you can also go to the Intervention tab in HMH and filter to Foundational Skills and Word Study Studio Teacher's Guide to find this information. https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1wVfFBvsyTUnSPC0Iwl2FK4KZsrFyUGK9
If you would like for me to help you plan any Intervention lessons or co-teach one with you, let me know, and I will schedule that!
Also, thanks again to all of PreK-2 and intervention for attending the PreA reader training. I have modeled this in Mr. James's class, so if you need me to model or co-teach a PreA lesson with you, also let me know!
Finally, shout outs to Mrs. Casco and Ms. Justiniano for finding these resources:
- These are passages for phonics skill practice: http://www.freereading.net/wiki/Passages_to_practice_advanced_phonics_skills,_fluency,_and_comprehension.html
- Liveworksheets.com-- You can search for worksheets to assess skills, and there are worksheets in Spanish! Mrs. Justiniano has hers set up to grade automatically, and if the students title it according to skills, she can filter out the assignments easily.
Shout Outs!
