Region IX Concert Band Festival

The 7th and 8th grade concert bands received SUPERIOR ratings from all judges during the Region IX Concert Band Festival! They were 2 of 3 bands who received the highest ratings. We are extremely proud of these students and all of their hard work they have put in this year.

Ms. Hollcroft's History of Chocolate Exploration Unit

Student's in Ms. Hollcroft's ELA classes spent the day trying out a variety of historically accurate types of chocolate! Students now have a greater appreciation of the chocolate they have access to in today's modern world.

Thank you to the parents who came in to help serve Xocolatl!

8th Grade CPR Training

Thank you to the volunteers who came in this past week to train our 8th grade students in CPR skills. These students who participated will receive a CPR Certification Card in the coming days.

National Junior Honors Society Applications

7th and 8th grade students who are interested in applying for the CTMS National Junior Honor Society can pick up applications in the office starting Friday, March 24. Completed applications are due to Mrs. Caltrider in room 59 no later than Thursday, April 20.

NO LATE SUBMISSIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED IN THE CONSIDERATION TO JOIN NJHS.

WV Treasury Department - Get a Life Program

On April 5, 2023 the 8th grade students will participate in the Get A Life Program put on by the WV Treasury Department. The intent of the Get-a-Life Simulation Game is to provide a real-life activity that will help students understand living expenditures and to think about their future and the importance of education.

A total of 90 minutes (45 minutes for each simulation) will be available for the Get-a-Life game. During the activity, the Green Reaper character may deliver a card to students at random. The card will reflect unexpected expenditures or windfalls that happen in real life, i.e., car breaks down, hot water tank needs to be replaced, etc. This amount will be subtracted or added to the monthly income on the handout.

We are excited to welcome this program back to CTMS this year.

CTMS Builder's Club Members and WHS Key Club Members attend the 2023 Capital District Convention

What an incredibly amazing weekend with 24 of the best teens from CTMS and WHS at the 2023 Capital District Convention!! The Key Clubbers had a table set up with their signature project during the service project fair. They received an honorable mention for their scrapbook (made by Julie Fincham, Kiara Vega Leon and Haley Frazier) and had two distinguished officers-Julie Fincham, editor, and Jessica Repetto, secretary! Saxophonist extraordinaire, Ben Caltrider, was one of five talent show contestants picked to play during the awards ceremony! Our very own Kayla Holloman won the Robert F. Lucas Distinguished LTG Award!!!

Our Builders, also, had a board up during the service fair. Megan Caltrider, Ava Brenneke and Henry Fesperman got to give a speech on the importance of Builders and why they are members. Many adults were amazed that they were only 8th graders and complimented them on their poise and grace.
